What should I do if a pipe bursts?
Turn off the water at the stopcock immediately—usually under the kitchen sink or outside at the boundary. Mop up standing water. Turn off the boiler if water is leaking near it. Call a plumber at once to prevent further damage.
Why do drains block and how can I prevent it?
Hair, grease, soap and food debris accumulate in pipes. Avoid pouring cooking oil down drains. Use drain covers, clean plughole traps weekly and run hot water through regularly. Don't flush non-biodegradable items.
What is a radiator bleed and why does it need doing?
